A Hot Cup of Chocolate - Rose Stanley and Lisa Allen

Description

Johan’s thinks that most problems can be solved by having a ‘magical’ cup of hot chocolate. He has a happy home, which he shares with Mum, Dad and his liitle sister Lani. But Johan’s friend Henry has a lot going on in his life and Johan finds out that being a supportive friend requires plenty of cups of hot chocolate … and a whole lot more. It is one of three thoughtful, entertaining and beautifully illustrated books that sensitively help development of ‘emotional literacy’ in young children.

Rose Stanley worked as a Student Support Specialist in a state primary school for six years and has most recently been an advisor for the Lifewalk Trust, where she trains volunteers working in a similar support role. Her work has involved supporting many children as they went through difficult life experiences including bereavement, family separations and friendship problems. She has also written a number of articles for the parenting magazine Tots to Teens.

Lisa Allen is a graphic designer and freelance illustrator. She also paints on commission and teaches art. Lisa has illustrated a number of successful picture books including Mangrove (Penguin 2007), Anzac Day Parade (Penguin 2010) and contributed illustrations to Read Me Another One Please (Whitcoulls 2012).
